I'm Seth Hartman, a banjo player, composer, music producer, and teacher with a symphony conductor's ear. I bring my experience at the conductor's podium with me to the studio, and my experience in the studio with me to the conductor's podium. I love to blend the textures of orchestral music, the humanity of folk music, and the power of electronic music into scores that bring great stories to life.

As an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, including banjo, trumpet, accordion, and more, I can create music in many genres quickly and authentically.

My deep understanding of the full audio pipeline allows me to take rough ideas and turn them into polished final products.
I'm a collaborative leader, and a caring mentor. Whether you are my student, or a member of my team, you are guaranteed to sound great.

I am based in the Des Moines metro area and I work with clients in person and remotely across Iowa and worldwide.

Also, and most importantly, I have two cats.
